Osama bin Laden 'Pulls a Harry Reid' on Afghan War

By John W. Lillpop

Osama bin Laden is apparently an admirer of the Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate, Senator Harry Reid from the great state of Nevada. Democrat senator.

Reid, it will be recalled, was the fellow who resisted the 'surge' of troops in the Iraq theater of the war on terror in April of 2007.

It was Reid's military expertise that led him to declare that the "war is lost" just as thousands of young Americans were being sent to war 8,000 miles from home.

Reid was, of course, proven to be dead wrong and the surge was a military success, much to the credit of President G.W. Bush.

Breaking news headlines today indicate that Osama bin Laden has 'pulled a Harry Reid' with respect to the Obama war in Afghanistan.

As reported at Yahoonews.com, in part:

"CAIRO – Osama bin Laden said in a new audiotape that President Barack Obama's strategy in Afghanistan is "hopeless" and called on Americans to resolve the conflict with al-Qaida by ending the war there and breaking the U.S. alliance with Israel.

"In the message marking the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the al-Qaida leader avoided his usual rhetoric of jihad and instead took a more analytical tone, claiming its differences with the U.S. stemmed from the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. "

Excepting references to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the OBL message sounds like an open and shut case of plagiarism from Reid's blathering of April 19, 2007.

Shame on bin Laden for not being more original!
