How Do You Say, “Adios, Amnesty!” in Spanish?

By John W. Lillpop

It had to happen sooner or later.

President Barack Obama, sporting a media-created sky-high IQ, wisdom born of repeated failure, and dismal approval ratings, just had to get one right.

Sheer mathematical probability makes it extremely unlikely that even one as radical and consistently misguided as Obama would go on forever without bumbling his way into a policy decision that makes sense and is good for the American people.

Obama’s moment of truth came to him in an ephinany which revealed the foolishness of pushing a program of amnesty for 12-30 million invading aliens while unemployment continues to make mince meat out of the American Dream for citizens.

As reported, in part, at foxnews.com:

“WASHINGTON – Immigration reform has become the first of President Barack Obama's major priorities dropped from the agenda of an election-year Congress facing voter disillusionment. Sounding the death knell was Obama himself.

“The president noted that lawmakers may lack the "appetite" to take on immigration while many of them are up for re-election and while another big legislative issue — climate change — is already on their plate.
In a mind-boggling bit of silly spin, the president added this dilly:

"I don't want us to do something just for the sake of politics that doesn't solve the problem."

Golly, gee, Mr. President, can you name a single action that you have taken while in office that has been based on principle, rather than raw partisan posturing?

Is it not true that political expediency was behind health care reform, the public crucifixion of Wall Street, and the idiotic plans to close GITMO and try terrorists in New York City?

Still, abandoning amnesty is good for America, and I salute the president for his cowardice and back pedaling on an issue that the American people simply do not support.

In another flash of great news, it is reported that SB 1070 is causing illegal aliens to leave Arizona. That was and is the point of Governor Brewer’s courageous stand for America, right?

As reported at myway.com, in part: (1)

“PHOENIX (AP) - Many of the cars that once stopped in the Home Depot parking lot to pick up day laborers to hang drywall or do landscaping now just drive on by.

“Arizona's sweeping immigration bill allows police to arrest illegal immigrant day laborers seeking work on the street or anyone trying to hire them. It won't take effect until summer but it is already having an effect on the state's underground economy.

"Nobody wants to pick us up," Julio Loyola Diaz says in Spanish as he and dozens of other men wait under the shade of palo verde trees and lean against a low brick wall outside the east Phoenix home improvement store.

“Many day laborers like Diaz say they will leave Arizona because of the law, which also makes it a state crime to be in the U.S. illegally and directs police to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they are illegal immigrants.
“Supporters of the law hope it creates jobs for thousands of Americans."

Amazing, is it not, Mr. President what enforcement of the rule of law can achieve?

Perhaps it (enforcement) should be something to consider at the federal level, sir?
