Where Is the New Ronald Reagan to Save America?

By John W. Lillpop

Although the "malaise" presidency of Jimmy Carter was a complete disaster in every respect, it did usher in an era of conservatism as articulated so well by Ronald Wilson Reagan whom was elected to serve as the 36th US president in 1980.

Carter deserves to be pummeled for his legacy of double-digit interest rates, stagflation, and pacifism in a world where only the brave can survive.

However, he also deserves credit for being so incompetent, and, as such, a perfect reflection of liberalism, that America wisely chose to take a sharp right turn by terminating Carter's insufferable and regrettable time in office!

Thirty years later, American voters have again dropped the ball by electing a gaggle of Marxist nincompoops lead by a completely unqualified president supported by equally incompetent and goofy congressional leaders in Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.

The Obama-Pelosi-Reid tag team has promised a "New Day in America," but has produced America with unsustainable deficits, high unemployment, and more taxes. More "Malaise" politics by wrong minded liberals.

Most distressing, the shock and awe assault on American wealth and institutions may not be over. As reported, in part, at Bloomber.com:

"The U.S. unemployment rate may not peak until the second half of 2010, possibly necessitating another extension in unemployment benefits, U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said."

Geithner would not rule out the possibility of new taxes to pay for extension of the unemployment insurance.

Further job losses and higher taxes? Hmmmm, that has a familiar sound to it. It's Obama's signature version of "malaise" politics!

Back in the late 70s, America was fortunate to have a robust, intelligent, and silver-tongued conservative to lead the charge against Jimmy Carter's foolish plans for destroying America.

With Obama, the assault on America is even more insidious and dangerous. This man is dangerous.

So, who is the Knight or Knightess in shining armor to which Americans can turn to save our great nation in 2012?

Mitt Romney? Sarah Palin?

Wake up, Republicans! America needs a conservative shoulder to cry on in these days of distress and malaise.

Where is the next Ronald Reagan?
