How desperate are liberals when it comes to their nearly- dead health care morass?
This desperate: Ted Kennedy had barely drawn his last breath before Shrieker of the House Nancy Pelosi rushed to her keyboard at 2 AM to dispatch an e-mail declaring that Kennedy's "dream" would be fulfilled by passage of a socialized medical health care bill.
Other liberals were not quite so obvious; some even waited for the official announcement of Kennedy's death before trading on his name.
Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia, for example, first had his vital signs checked to make sure that that BREAKING NEWS headline about an old senator dying was not about himself.
Whereupon, the 90-something senator declared that the health care bill should be renamed the Kennedy Health Care plan to honor the younger senator from Massachusetts.
Prudence would dictate moving very slowly on this: Who knows, we might be looking at a Kennedy-Byrd health care bill in weeks, if not days.
Of course, the logical question in all this is: So, a 77-year old man died of brain cancer. Sad, regrettable, but it happens every day.
Why in the world should that fact cause the government to destroy the best health care system in the world and replace it with a Marxist HMO that will only burden taxpayers will trillions in added debt?
How will driving America into bankruptcy help to honor the memory of Ted Kennedy?
