Open Letter to Senators Feinstein and Boxer: DREAM Amnesty

Dear Senators Feinstein and Boxer:

Those who support adoption of the DREAM Amnesty Act before the U.S. Senate argue that those illegals who would benefit from the Act are, “American In Every Sense, Except One.”

This argument holds that illegal aliens are unfairly denied access to the American Dream because they lack a simple piece of paper (Certification of Citizenship).

Senators, that ridiculous argument is a feeble attempt to cheapen U.S. citizenship and mock the processes used to govern migration to our blessed nation.

Migrating to America (legally) is, and should be, a long, drawn-out procedure meant to protect the interests of American citizens. It involves more than simply jumping a fence and heading north in pursuit of free health care, education, food stamps and other handouts paid for by U.S. taxpayers.

Legal immigration means enduring rigorous hurdles like background checks to detect a criminal background or possible ties to terrorists.

It means medical examinations to detect diseases still prevalent in third-world nations, but long since eradicated here, and

It means proof of financial solvency so as to prevent newcomers from becoming a burden on U.S. taxpayers.

CITIZENSHIP INVOLVES MORE THAN A SIMPLE PIECE OF PAPER. IT REFLECTS AMERICAN VALUES AND COMMITMENT TO THE RULE OF LAW.

Those who have jumped the fence into America in order to avoid our immigration procedures are not immigrants. Neither are the children that the invaders bring with them.

In truth, people who come here illegally leave America vulnerable to undetected crime, terrorism, disease, and financial devastation. And they have no legal or moral justification for being here.

Passing the DREAM Amnesty Act would reward criminal invasions of America and would encourage millions of others to ignore our borders and immigration laws.

Furthermore, the DREAM Act would cause billions of dollars to be spent on illegal aliens when millions of American citizens are in financial and employment crisis.

Why should any money be spent to accommodate those here illegally when American citizens are in such dire need?

I urge each of you to do the responsible and American thing: Vote NO! on the DREAM Amnesty Act.

Please Remember: Illegal Aliens Are NOT “American In Every Sense Except One!”

Thank you for considering my input.

Sincerely,
