Celebrating an Amnesty-Free Decade!

By John W. Lillpop

Defeat of the DREAM Amnesty bill in the U.S. Senate marks the end of a decade in which no new amnesty bills were enacted into law.

This, despite the fact that the administrations of George W. Bush and Barrack H. Obama were, and are, decidedly pro-illegal alien and ardent advocates of amnesty for as many as 40 million illegals.

Those who supported the DREAM Act and the amnesty measures proposed by W., fail to recognize this simple fact:

Amnesty NEVER works! It ALWAYS entices others to come here illegally.

For example, in 1986, the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCO) was signed into law by President Reagan. IRCO included amnesty for about 4 million illegal aliens, mostly from Mexico.

IRCO also included provisions for penalizing those who hired illegals and authorized deportation of “illegal aliens.’

Note that the term ILLEGAL ALIENS is not a derogatory, racist put down by right-wing nut cases—it is codified in federal law.

Since IRCO was enacted, another 12-40 illegal aliens have invaded America at a cost of $110 billion a year. This when America was involved in a major war against terrorism.

Defeating DREAM was, in effect, a line drawn in the sand.

Let this decision serve as a warning to politicians and illegals alike.

Namely, America operates in accordance with rule of law and amnesty for those who willfully violate our borders and immigration laws shall NOT be rewarded with a path to citizenship.

Let’s celebrate the amnesty-free decade of 2000, and remain diligent in our commitment to keep America amnesty-free forever!
