Speaking of Reducing Gun Violence, What About Fast and Furious, Mr. President?

By John W. Lillpop

President Obama took a political risk by jumping (sort of) on the gun control band wagon in response to the tragic carnage in a movie theater Colorado.

As reported at the reference, in part, he said:

NEW ORLEANS (Reuters) - President Barack Obama pledged on Wednesday to work with leaders of all political stripes to "arrive at a consensus" on how to reduce gun violence across the United States after the Colorado shootings highlighted the issue in an election year.

Thus, did the president engage the volatile issue of 2nd Amendment rights.

In so doing, Obama cited an awful incident in which a 24-year-old psychopath loser turned a movie theater into a shooting gallery, the sort of tragedy that is repeated every day all across America, according to the president.

No one will argue the gravity of the Aurora slaughter and the unnecessary heart break visited on the victims’ families.

However, while lamenting the awful misuse of weapons by a demented man on a mission to kill for fame and glory, Obama has consistently ignored the misuse of weapons by HIS Department of Justice, a crime which cost an American border patrol agent and hundreds of Mexican citizens their lives.

Its called Fast and Furious and is so dangerous because the Obama Department of Justice under Eric Holder deliberately caused lethal weapons to be shipped to drug cartels in Mexico.

Again, the US government caused deadly weapons to be placed in the hands of foreign drug cartels.

 Where is the outrage?

Missing in action---Which means that a dramatically important gun violence issue
is being ignored. because of election year politcs.

Some one needs to ask Obama:  What sort of gun controls would prevent a 2nd Amendment-hating Marxist dictator posing as US President from shipping deadly weapons to a foreign drug cartel where said weapons would be used to murder at least one US border patrol agent and hundreds of innocent foreign citizens?

Indeed, can more strict control laws prevent an ideologically-driven President and or his administration from sponsoring the crime known as “Fast and Furious”?

Furthermore, what oversights and checks and balances would it take to empower the US Congress to overcome the obstruction, stonewalling and flat-out cover-up of “Fast and Furious” crimes?

Would tougher gun control laws prevent a misguided president from claiming “Executive Privilege” in order to circumvent and shut down oversight actions?

In sum, what sort of gun control laws would it take to keep dangerous weapons out of the hands of President Obama and his Department of Justice where said weapons would be used against American law enforcement?

Finally: Which threat poses the greatest danger to America: A random act by a mad man, or a concentrated, programmed  effort by the US Government and Eric Holder?

Just asking!
