Racism to Blame for Obama's Low Support from Whites?

By John W. Lillpop

President Obama enjoys great support from African-American, Hispanic, and other minority groups.  However, he does not do so well among whites.

As reported in the media:

President Obama does not currently have enough white support to win re-election even if he retains his minority base from 2008. At the same time, electoral data indicates Mitt Romney has not yet attracted enough of these white voters to capitalize on Obama's weakness.

Pundits often note that Romney cannot win with his current level of Hispanic support. That's likely true. But so is the converse: Obama cannot win with his level of white support unless white swing voters withhold their votes from Romney as well.

Liberals will immediately blame white racism for Obama's dismal showing with that demongraphic.

However, no one seems to question the massive support which Obama receives from African Americans and Hispanics.

Is Obama prospering in the polls because of anti-white sentiments and racism by  people of color?

Whatever happened to the "Color Blind" ideal promoted by Dr. King?
