Who Asked Sheriff Dupnik His “Opinion” about the Tucson Massacre?

Who In the Hell Asked Sheriff Clarence Dupnik His “Opinion” about Tucson Massacre?

By John W. Lillpop

It used to be that law enforcement officials, the good ones anyway, were all about “Just the facts, madam” as with Joe Friday, the iconic police model from the Dragnet television series.

The idea was that personal opinions and feelings served no legitimate purpose while the facts were still being investigated. It was argued that detachment was essential to assuring the credibility of law enforcement.

That was then.

Now, with the American people still reeling from the bloody shootings in Tucson, and before proper respects could be paid to families and friends of the victims of six dead and many other seriously injured people, Sheriff Clarence Dupnik decided to inject his “opinion” into the BREAKING NEWS of the morning.

In so doing, Sheriff Dupnik exposed his own political bias and raised a genuine concern about his fitness to serve in a role that involves so much reliance on objectivity and trust.

As reported throughout the media, the very liberal sheriff allowed the following drivel to flow from his mouth:

"The kind of rhetoric that flows from people like Rush Limbaugh, in my judgment he is irresponsible, uses partial information, sometimes wrong information," Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik said today. "[Limbaugh] attacks people, angers them against government, angers them against elected officials and that kind of behavior in my opinion is not without consequences."

With all due respect, Sheriff, attacking Rush Limbaugh and his ilk without having a shred of proof to substantiate the charges, and to do so in a manner that creates the impression that Limbaugh is actually a factor in the insanity of Jared Lee Loughner, is “irresponsible vitriol,” in and of itself, besides being incredibly stupid.

Rush Limbaugh is paid, quite handsomely, for giving his opinions.

Tens of millions of Americans voluntarily listen to Limbaugh every day for news and opinion that is not contaminated by the leftist main stream media, which serves as little more than a mouth piece for your Democrat Party. Sir!

You, on the other hand, are paid to protect the citizenry of Pima County. Perhaps events like the Tucson massacre could be handled better if YOU did your damn job instead of concerning yourself with what Rush Limbaugh is saying?

In all frankness, sheriff, no one, except those on the lunatic left anxious to pin the inanity of Loughner on the right , gives a tinker’s dam about your “opinions” about anything.

However, everyone expects you to be focused on preventing criminal behavior, and when it does occur, to apprehend the suspects, based on “facts” not opinion.

We understand that enforcing the law is low priority for you, as with your publicly announced opposition to SB 1050 and your insular refusal to enforce said measure.

THAT position is incredibly irresponsible--especially for any law enforcement official!

Why not leave the opining to the professionals, sheriff?

In other words, shut up and do your job!
