De JA Vu All Over Again: U.S. House Passes Bill to Avoid Default

By John W. Lillpop

With support from Tea Party Patriots, the U.S. House of Representatives this afternoon passed a bill to avoid default and cut federal spending.

Known as the Boehner Bill, in honor of House Speaker John Boehner, the legislation passed by a mark of 218-210. No Democrats voted for the bill.

Thus, for the second time in less than two weeks, the U.S. House has passed a detailed debt plan, something that the U.S. Senate has failed to do.

President Obama has made offered several lectures and speeches to make known what he would not support, but has not committed to any specific spending cuts.

The approved Boehner bill now heads to the desk of Majority Leader Harry Reid who has been unable to pass even a budget in that chamber, much less a plan for dealing with the devastating debt accumulated by the Obama-Reid-Pelosi trio.

Hats off to John Boehner and may the U.S. Senate see truth and do what is right for America.
