Obama’s “Evolving Opportunism” on Gay Marriage
By John W. Lillpop
Apparently choosing to ‘lead from behind’ on another vexing national issue, President Barack Obama has refused to take a definite position on the issue of gay marriage.
As he did earlier in his term, Obama continues to claim that his position is “evolving.”
Still evolving, Sir?
With all due respect, Mr. President, the issue is not that complex, really. Brain surgery this is NOT! Constitutional law this is NOT!
Either you believe that it is OK for men to marry men and women to marry women, or you do not!
It is that simple, or should be, especially for a man with a brilliant, sky-high IQ, and one whom is in charge of running the greatest nation on earth!
Obama added to consternation among gay activists when he cancelled a visit to North Carolina scheduled for May 8, the same day that the state considers a ballot initiative to ban same sex marriage. That cancellation has added fuel to the notion that what is really “evolving” is Obama’s cowardly political opportunism.
In fact, Ed Rendell, long time Democrat stalwart and former governor of Pennsylvania, even called on Obama to “Man up” and tell the truth about his position on this important issue.
Man up? This president?
Don’t be silly, Mr. Rendell!
