Obama’s ‘Punt’ of Jobs Plan: Wide, Left!

By John W. Lillpop

As has been observed throughout the vast right-wing conspiracy, President Obama’s job speech was actually the opening play of the football season.

That is so because on Thursday night, before Green Bay and New Orleans even took the field, the president punted the tough decisions and tasks concerning the economy and jobs to the Super Committee for action.

As with most of Obama’s wonky ideas, the jobs punt was, ‘Wide, Left.’

Meaning it basically a rehashing of old, tried and failed progressive ideas that have never worked, and never will.

Wide, left, Mr. President! That means a big, fat ZERO on the score board. ZERO, a number which is becoming indelibly identified as a key part of the Obama legacy.

Obama’s embarrassing performance came despite his huge ‘home field advantage,’; namely, an adoring, if somewhat exhausted, liberal media doing the cheerleading on the left side lines.

Adding even more insanity to his speech, the President had the audacity to demand that Congress “Pass This Bill” right away!

Begging your pardon, sir, but what ‘bill’ would that be?

Just as CBO does not score speeches, so it is that Congress does pass speeches into law! Regardless of how eloquent.

All of which raises a tricky question:

Does America need a new quarterback? One who can scramble to his left and right with equal ease, based on what is best for Team America?

The more urgent question: Can the nation wait 495 plus days to give Obama his unconditional release?
