A Bipartisan Smiting in U.S. Senate

By John W. Lillpop

Although President Obama and his dedicated Marxist partners in the Democrat Party will never admit as much, the shellacking administered to Obama’s $447 billion tax and spend orgy was very much a bipartisan response to a very imprudent proposal.

Despite Obama’s broken-record admonition to “Pass the bill NOW,” originally issued on September 8, the Democrat-controlled Senate waited more than a month to bring the bill to a vote, and then only after modifying the terms.

When asked why the U.S. Senate was failing to heed the urgency demanded by the President, Majority Leader Harry Reid explained that other Senate business had greater priority.

And yet President Obama continued to harass Republicans with rhetoric which suggested that were it not for the GOP, millions of unemployed Americans would be on the way to ‘shovel ready’ jobs.

Of course, Obama ignored the potential damage to the economy and job growth that would occur as a result of confiscating money from people who are job creators, and funneling said monies to Washington, D.C. bureaucrats who already wasted nearly $1 trillion dollars in the failed Stimulus-1 fiasco.

What America has learned from the latest Obama stumble is that fallen Messiahs from Kenya do not accept defeat with grace, as confirmed by Obama’s statement after vote in the Senate:

"Ultimately, the American people won't take 'no' for an answer. It's time for Congress to meet their responsibility, put their party politics aside and take action on jobs right now."

Actually, when it comes to wasteful spending and increased taxes, the American people said NO! most emphatically in November 2010!

The problem is that Obama and Democrats in general refuse to abide by the will of voters, and continue to advocate policies that will inhibit job creation and economic growth.

It is way past time for President Obama to stop embarrassing himself and the presidency.

Just say NO! to more spending and taxes, and take unemployment seriously, Mr. President!
