Obama Rolls Out the “No Strategy” Option for ISIS!
By John W. Lillpop
On August 22, US Defense Secretary Hagel issued a dire warning about the threat posed by the Islamic State terrorist group, saying:
"ISIL is as sophisticated and well-funded as any group that we have seen," Hagel said. "They're beyond just a terrorist group. They marry ideology, a sophistication of strategic and tactical military prowess. They are tremendously well-funded. Oh, this is beyond anything that we've seen. So we must prepare for everything."
Clearly, Chuck Hagel believes that ISIS is more brutal, more ruthless, and more of a threat to America and the world than the lunatics of Al-Quadea whom masterminded and carried out the 9/11 attack which cost 3,000 American civilians their lives.
Given the severity and urgency of Hagel’s warning, one would have expected the US Commander-in-Chief to return from his vacation with a detailed strategy and plan for defeating the ISIS killers.
Alas, Barack Obama is the Commander-In-Chief and Hagel’s warning came at a time when the One was seriously engaged in golf, dancing, and other recreational diversions, apparently more important than preservation of the nation and 330 million American lives.
First things first, after all. And when it comes to Obama, golf is first, second, third, and on and on.
Being president is, it seems, an annoying sideline, especially when Obama’s golf addiction and other vacation frivolities are involved.
Thus, it should have come as no great surprise that Obama addressed the ISIS fray with less than robust enthusiasm.
He was, as they say, distracted.
As reported:
After lots of bluster about striking ISIS on Syria, President Obama threw cold water on the idea Thursday, disappointing those who wanted him to take the fight to ISIS in Syria.
After a week of talk of eliminating the "cancer" of ISIS, President Obama said Thursday that he was not planning to significantly expand the war against the Islamic extremist movement anytime soon.
His remarks came after days of heated debate inside the top levels of his own national security bureaucracy about how, where, and whether to strike ISIS in Syria. But those deliberations – which included a bleak intelligence assessment of America's potential allies in Syria -- failed to produce a consensus battle plan. And so Obama, who has long been reluctant to enter into the Syrian conflict, told reporters Thursday that “we don’t have a strategy yet” for confronting ISIS on a regional level.”
No strategy yet, Mr. President? Does the name James Foley ring a bell, sir? You know, the journalist whom was ruthlessly beheaded by an ISIS monster as pay back for the US bombings in Iraq?
Does the name Chuck Hagel mean anything, sir? He is your Defense Secretary and he has warned that America must move urgently to eliminate ISIS.
Good heavens, Mr. President, America needs strong, powerful leadership to deal with ISIS!
The big question: Is ISIS another messy duty that is above your pay grade? Sir?
