March 26, 1940. A date to remember.
For on that dreary day, in Baltimore, MD, Nancy Pelosi was born.
Three score + fourteen tears later, Pelosi has a failed gig as Speaker of the US House and a reputation as a leftist ding bat on her resume. Even so, Pelosi still gets in the way of common sense and intelligent governance in the US House, sans the Speakers’ gavel which was pried from her reckless hands in 2010.
Over the years, while a member of the U.S. House, Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) has acquired quite a legacy for saying and doing some truly foolish things
Among her most memorable faux pas moments are the following examples:
It was imperative to pass ObamaCare in a heated rush so that Congress could then determine what was exactly in the bill.
Catholic fathers have not concluded whether or not abortion is wrong. To Pelosi, abortions are “sacred ground”
Enforcement of America’s borders & immigration laws is “un-American.”
Those who oppose building a mosque at ground zero in New York should be investigated by Congress.
Sealing off the Mexican border to prevent illegal drugs from coming into America is far too expensive and ineffective. Better to spend taxpayer money on treatment programs for those Americans actually harmed by such illegal drugs.
As regards budget cuts proposed by Republicans, Pelosi said “The cupboard is bare. There’s no more cuts to make.”
So on this her 74th birthday, a special birthday greeting seems appropriate:
Happy 74th, Nancy, and why not retire from “serving” the people?
Do it for the children!
