Satire by John W. Lillpop
For nearly two weeks now, American media have attempted to deify Michael Jackson with 24/7 coverage of this very disturbed man's life and death.
When is enough enough? How about 13 days ago?
Not according to moonbats like Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.
If Congresswoman Lee gets her way, the US Congress will stop work on the collapsing US economy, massive deficits, soaring unemployment and gas prices, and Obama's wars in Iraq and Afghanistan long enough to pass a resolution honoring the deceased pervert, AKA, Michael Jackson.
As reported, in part, at CSN:
http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=50700
"Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee may have trouble keeping the promise she made at Michael Jackson's public memorial for a House resolution that "forever" honors the late pop star.
"Jackson Lee, a Texas Democrat, took the stage Tuesday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and hoisted a framed copy of the resolution, embossed with a gold seal. The measure will be debated on the House floor, she said.
"For that framed, embossed resolution to be completely legit, it must first get past some opposition.
"Her legislation, House Resolution 600, lists several charitable acts by Michael Jackson over his long career and proclaims him as an American legend, musical icon and world humanitarian. He is, Jackson Lee said, "someone who will be honored forever and forever and forever and forever and forever."
"In the House, non-controversial resolutions honoring a person who has died or carried out a noteworthy accomplishment normally move quickly from committee to the House floor and then pass on a voice vote. The Michael Jackson resolution, introduced June 26, is awaiting action in the House Foreign Affairs Committee, of which Jackson Lee is a member and King is not."
I have an even better idea, Congresswoman: Let's make July 7 a national holiday in honor of Michael Jackson in order to assure that the King of Pill Pop will be remembered forever.
Of course, adding another expensive federal holiday will be a hard sell during the national depression. Still, the issue must be addressed.
My solution: Drop Martin Luther King day as a holiday and replace it with Emaciated Pedophile Day.
How does that sound Congresswoman?

Mixed Signals on Israeli Strike: Biden Says Go, Obama Says No

By John W. Lillpop
Given the frequent contradictions coming from the White House, one can not help but wonder if President Barack Obama and VP Joe Biden ever communicate, be it in person, cell phone, e-mail, text messaging, Twitter, or US mail?
How about homing pigeons, foot messengers, or smoke signals?
The latest incident of crossed signals involves the latitude granted by the US to Israel in dealing with the Mullahs of Iran.
As reported at the link below, in part:
http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1246443739359&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull
"President Obama on Tuesday strongly denied that the United States had given Israel an approval to strike Iran's nuclear facilities.
"Asked by CNN whether Washington had given Israel a green light for such an attack, Obama answered: "Absolutely not."
"In the interview, which was broadcast from Russia, where Obama is on an official visit, he added: "We can't dictate to other countries what their security interests are.
"What is also true is, it is the policy of the United States to try to resolve the issue of Iran's nuclear capabilities," Obama said.
"On Sunday, US Vice President Joe Biden was asked on ABC's 'This Week' whether the US would stand in the way militarily if the Israelis decided they needed to take out Iran's nuclear program.
"The US "cannot dictate to another sovereign nation what they can and cannot do," he said.
"Israel can determine for itself - it's a sovereign nation - what's in their interest and what they decide to do relative to Iran and anyone else," he said."
The two most powerful government officials in the US cannot get their act together on an issue as important as war?
Yet, We the People should entrust these blokes with the health care system for 300 million Americans?
Not on your bloody life!
Washington Post: All the Access Fit to Sell

By John W. Lillpop
Selling newspapers is a respectable, American way to earn a profit, even for those leftist media who claim to loathe the very idea of profit and the corporate greed it inevitably spawns.
On the other hand, auctioning off access to "those powerful few" contacts one develops while collecting and delivering the news is an example of corporate greed gone amuck.
It is also apparently the way they do business over at the very liberal Washington Post.
As reported at the link below, in part:
http://www.theyoungturks.com/story/2009/7/2/104321/3922/Diary/The-Washington-Post-Sells-Out
"Washington Post publisher Katharine Weymouth said today she was canceling plans for an exclusive "salon" at her home where for as much as $250,000, the Post offered lobbyists and association executives off-the-record access to "those powerful few" — Obama administration officials, members of Congress, and even the paper’s own reporters and editors.
The astonishing offer was detailed in a flier circulated Wednesday to a health care lobbyist, who provided it to a reporter because the lobbyist said he felt it was a conflict to charge for access to, as the flier says, its “health care reporting and editorial staff."
"With the Post news room in an uproar after POLITICO reported the solicitation, Weymouth said in an email to the staff that "a flier went out that was prepared by the Marketing department and was never vetted by me or by the news room. Had it been, the flier would have been immediately killed, because it completely misrepresented what we were trying to do."
"She made it clear however, that The Post, which lost $19.5 million in the first quarter, sees bringing together Washington figures as a future revenue source. “We do believe that there is a viable way to expand our expertise into live conferences and events that simply enhances what we do - cover Washington for Washingtonians and those interested in Washington,” she said. “ And we will begin to do live events in ways that enhance our reputation and in no way call into question our integrity.”
"Executive editor Marcus Brauchli was as adamant as Weymouth in denouncing the plan promoted in the flier. “You cannot buy access to a Washington Post journalist,” Brauchli told POLITICO. Brauchli was named on the flier as one of the salon’s "Hosts and Discussion Leaders."
An unsolicited word of wisdom for both Katharine Weymouth and Marcus Brauchli:
Rather than peddling influence, how about giving journalist integrity a chance by reporting the news objectively, honestly and without that dreadful liberal bias that the WAPO is notorious for?
Who knows, if the WAPO were a reliable source for news rather than a wing of the DNC, people might even read the damn thing!

Liberals Plotting Another Trillion Dollar "Stimulus" Bill?

By John W. Lillpop
Don't look now, but the same liberals who fleeced the American people with the first trillion-dollar stimulus rip-off are quietly making a move to do it again.
As reported at abcnews, in part:
http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/2009/07/dem-senator-second-stimulus-probably-needed.html
"Today on ABCNews.com’s “Top Line,” Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., said a second stimulus is “probably needed,” and predicted that Congress is likely to act before the end of the year to inject even more federal dollars into the economy.
"Said Whitehouse: “I think that it is probably needed. We’re going to need to have some further discussion. It will probably take place towards the end of the year and we want to take a look at the economic conditions at the time. But it certainly should be on the table at this point.”
"He continued: “We very may well need to do a second stimulus, and we have to reassure the American people that just because the banks are back on better footing again, we haven’t overlooked them. They’re the priority, and we gotta make sure that’s clear.”
Excuse the skepticism Senator Whitehouse, but isn't the first trillion dollar pork bill a significant factor in the deepening recession and march toward double digit unemployment?
In fact, another trillion dollar stimulus makes about as much sense as:
* Using gasoline to fight a roaring fire.
* Giving an alcoholic a drink to soothe his shaky nerves and hands.
* Treating an obese child to a hot fudge sundae in order to make her feel better after being called "fat" at school.
* Gifting a dying lung cancer patient in Hospice Care with a pack of unfiltered Pall Mall smokes to lift his "sagging spirits."
The story from the referenced link continues, in part:
"Whitehouse’s home state of Rhode Island is among the hardest-hit in the current economic downturn. In light of a Providence Journal story revealing that most stimulus money headed to Rhode Island has gone to close the state’s budget gap -- instead of on job-creating projects -- we asked the senator whether he was satisfied with the spending pace and overall impact of the first stimulus measure.
'No -- obviously not,” he said. “I think that the sooner we can get these jobs out for people the better off they will be, and the sooner the economy can really start to turn around in a way that means something to regular people and not just to bank executives. So, we’ve got a job to do to try to speed that up.'
"The Obama administration, while acknowledging that the stimulus’ impact hasn’t been what they predicted it would be, is putting off questions about a second stimulus.
"On ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” Sunday, Vice President Joe Biden said that while administration officials “misread the economy” earlier this year, it’s too soon to say whether more stimulus spending is necessary."
Translated into working English, the VP was saying, in effect, "Look, we don't know what the hell we are doing, and Obamanomics is obviously failing miserably. Before we swindle the people out of another trillion dollars, we Democrats want to make sure that we can blame George W. Bush for the first trillion."
Has there ever been a more cogent argument against single party governance?
The economic Armageddon now taking place is a direct result of having no responsible oversight to counter tax and spend liberals like Nancy Pelosi.
Does America need a second stimulus?
Only if said stimulus results in massive tax cuts and cancellation of hundreds of billions of dollars in waste and fraud contained in the first Pelosi-Reid-Obama giveaway signed into law in February.

Tax Payer Money Wasted on Michael Jackson Farewell in Los Angeles

By John W. Lillpop
Los Angeles, like all major cities in America, is under enormous financial pressure because of the steep recession and President Obama's misguided policies which have only turned the recession into a major depression.
Budget deficits have caused the city to layoff teachers and cut back services to citizens, although illegal aliens fare better because many are shielded by Mayor Antonio Villagarrosa, a Mexican national who regards the millions of invading criminals in LA as "family."
With all of its woes and problems, the last thing Los Angeles needs is another huge, unnecessary expense for a crotch-grabbing, drug-addicted freak who cashed in his own chips with a lifestyle that was more stupid than immoral.
As reported, in part, at MSN.com:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31710570/ns/entertainment-music/
"LOS ANGELES - More than 1.6 million fans registered for tickets to Michael Jackson's memorial service over the two-day registration period that ended Saturday.
"Only 11,000 tickets will be given out for the Tuesday service at Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. Another 6,500 tickets will be given away for the Nokia Theater overflow section next door.
"Fans had to register for free at staplescenter.com between 10 a.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday for the random drawing of 8,750 names. Each person selected will receive two tickets and will be notified by email after 11 a.m. Sunday.
"Last month, donations covered about $850,000 of the city's $1 million cost for the Los Angeles Lakers' NBA championship parade. Critics had blasted the idea of using city money when it is considering layoffs to close its budget gap."
So, is the funeral of an emaciated pedophile more important than a parade for Kobe Bryant and the NBA Championship, an event that brought pride and joy to all Angelenos?
Of course not.
Los Angeles should bill the estate of "The King of Pill Pop" for every dime spent escorting this weirdo out of this earthly dimension!
