The late Ronald Reagan once famously said, ‘Thou Shall Speak No Evil of a Fellow Republican,’ or words to that effect, in admonishing Republicans vying for the same political office to refrain from providing fodder to the ultimate enemy, Democrats!
After the bloody debate in Las Vegas on Tuesday, the Gipper must surely be turning over in his grave in anguish as the GOP combatants pummeled each other with elan while leaving the real enemy of peace and prosperity, Barack Hussein Obama, relatively unscathed.
On all vital issues, from illegal aliens to health care, it did not serve the interests of the American people one whit for Mitt Romney and Rick Perry to blast each other for straying from conservative ideals in the past, when the real and present danger to our Democracy and way of life was thousands of miles a way on a campaign bus tour through North Carolina and Virginia, at taxpayers’ expense.
Competition is a good and wonderful way to flesh out the truth. However, why in the world are GOP candidates creating free sound bites that are sure to be aired in Democrat attack ads in 2012?
Please, lady and gentlemen, remember Reagan’s 11th Commandment and honor it as you would the first ten.
In other words, patriots win one for the Gipper by sending Barack Obama back to the streets of Chicago!
