Obama Needs to Listen to His Representative in Congress AND Follow Lead of Minnesota Governor

President Obama is getting plenty of free tutelage these days from both sides of the political spectrum concerning his infantile, hussy-fit approach to solving the debt-ceiling crisis.

The first pearl of wisdom comes from Joe Walsh, who just happens to be the U.S. Representative for the North Suburban neighborhood of Chicago.

Walsh tells Obama: “quit lying” which is about as forthright as one can get.

CHICAGO (CBS) – North suburban Republican Congressman Joe Walsh has a new YouTube video on his website – where he tells President Barack Obama to “quit lying” about the impact of not raising the national debt ceiling by Aug. 2.

In a nearly three-minute video released Wednesday, Walsh says, “President Obama, quit lying.” He claims there is plenty of money to pay federal debts and cover the costs of social security benefits, even if the debt ceiling isn’t raised by the deadline.

Obama has said the nation will default if Congress doesn’t raise the national debt ceiling to $14.3 trillion by Aug. 2. The president told CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley that he could not guarantee that Social Security checks would go out next month if a deal on the debt wasn’t reached.


Walsh says that’s not true, but Republican leaders don’t dispute it. However, they have disagreed with the White House on the best way to make up for more borrowing. The president wants to raise taxes on the wealthy , but Republicans favor major cuts in spending.”

Meanwhile, in the great state of Minnesota, Governor Mark Dayton has stepped up and exerted leadership in order to end the government shutdown in that state.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 9) - Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton and Republican

leaders are returning to budget talks, with a 2 p.m. meeting in Dayton’s office.

The meeting comes after the governor sent a letter Thursday morning to House Speaker Kurt Zellers and Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch, saying he "reluctantly" agrees to accept the Republican budget proposal from June 30 if it will end the government shutdown .

“Despite my serious reservations about your plan, I have concluded that continuing the state government shutdown would be even more destructive for too many Minnesotans,” Dayton wrote in the letter.

“Therefore, I am willing to agree to something I do not agree with – your proposal – in order to spare our citizens and our state from further damage.”

Dayton said accepting the offer, with conditions, would bridge a $1.4 billion gap between him and the Republican leadership without any more drastic cuts to essential services.

"If this gets resolved and gets Minnesota back to work in the next few days, then it doesn't matter what people say about me,” Dayton said.”

Now THAT is a selfless politician doing what is best for the people, rather than storming out of negotiations and crying “enough is enough.”

Obama’s Legendary “Cool” Goes Missing in Debt-Ceiling Walk Out

For one just about old enough to join AARP, President Obama is acting like a two-year whose favorite teething toy has been appropriated by a new born unwelcome sister.

Tensions boiled over Wednesday, when Obama heatedly rejected Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor's push for a short-term deal anchored on spending cuts, according to key Republican and Democratic aides.

Obama said he would veto such a stopgap measure, warned Cantor "don't call my bluff," and declared himself ready to take his case to US voters, said aides on both sides, who described the events on condition of anonymity.

Republican aides described Obama as storming out of the meeting in a huff, while their Democratic counterparts said that the presidential rebuke left Cantor chastised and speechless.

"I've reached my limit. This may bring my presidency down, but I will not yield on this," Obama said, according to a Republican aide.

The president's message was "enough posturing," said a Democratic aide, who said Obama did not storm out but left because the meeting had ended.

An aide to Republican House Speaker John Boehner later signaled that the lawmaker was prepared to accept a short-term deal in which spending cuts outweighed the debt limit increase and tax hikes were off the table.”


Note that the arrogant, self-consumed Obama sees the worse case scenario as something that might “bring my presidency down.”

As usual, it is always about Obama. What about the devastation that would be visited upon 300 million Americans? What about the effect on the global economy?

None of that matters to Barack Obama. Its all about his super-inflated ego and the shame of being forced to do something right for a change.

To hell with your presidency, sir. Your incompetence and inability to see the truth has already rendered your presidency a colossal failure not worth saving!

Michelle Had a Burger, Fries & Shake for Lunch. So What?

So, America’s Queen of Food Safety, the girth-bound Michelle Obama, strayed from her diet of fresh garden veggies and other really boring eats and instead ate like a real American for a change!

It ain’t much, but it is a start toward converting the FLOTUS from celery sticks, spinach and other communist foods to red-blooded American burgers, fries, and shakes!

As reported at the reference, in part:

“A Washington Post reporter spotted the First Lady ordering a burger, fries and a chocolate milkshake for lunch on Monday at a local Washington D.C. Shake Shack. The report makes it clear that there is not evidence that Mrs. Obama actually devoured all of the fast food herself or shared it amongst friends, since the entire restaurant was shut down for her lunch.”

As Joe Biden would say, “This is a Big F****ing Deal!”

Who in the hell cares what Michelle Obama eats and how much?

Good heavens, given the fact that she is betrothed to a pathological liar with an ego the size of that Shake Shack, it is a wonder that the woman does not gulp down 6,000-8000 calories a day—for lunch alone!

To that Washington Post reporter I say, “Keep you damn nose of Michelle’s food!”

To Michelle I say, ”Eat what you like darling, just Keep you damn nose out of my food!”

Obama’s Social Security “Threat”--More Romper Room Rhetoric!

As August 2 draws ever closer, President Obama has resorted to even larger and more despicable lies. Now he is threatening seniors that social security checks may not go out if the debt ceiling is not increased by August 2.

As reported by financial wizard Greg Hunter at the reference, in part, that is simply not true:

The gloves came off in the fight over raising the debt ceiling yesterday. On CBS News, the President basically threatened to cut off Social Security checks by August 3rd if a deal was not reached. Mr. Obama said to veteran newsman Scott Pelly, “I cannot guarantee that those checks go out on August 3rd if we haven’t resolved this issue, because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it.”

What? So, the President admitted there is no money in the Social Security Trust Fund? Why in heck didn’t Mr. Pelly call the President on this???!!! Is it because Pelly is afraid he will never get another Presidential interview? I don’t know if the President really believes this, but it looks like a political scare tactic to me.

What I do know is the President’s statement is simply not true! According to Social Security, the Trust Fund holds something called “special issues.” Here’s what the government’s own website says, “Unlike marketable securities, special issues can be redeemed at any time at face value. Marketable securities are subject to the forces of the open market and may suffer a loss, or enjoy a gain, if sold before maturity. Investment in special issues gives the trust funds the same flexibility as holding cash.

Did you get that? What Social Security holds is the same as “holding cash!” Threatening to cut off funds to seniors and the disabled is more political theater than budgetary fact. It is also a clear sign the budget ceiling fight has turned ugly.

I think making political threats like this is a big mistake by the President. This could harm the idea of “full faith and credit” of the U.S. even if a deal is reached in time to make the August 2nd deadline. Hardline politics on both sides could make consumers of our debt run like hell. The President should be reassuring Treasury holders.

Instead, the President is not just scaring seniors, but also buyers of our debt. Why would anyone want to go through this kind of drama every year? Wouldn’t you be looking for fixed income investments someplace else? That’s what the biggest bond fund in the world (PIMCO) is doing. Also, every time the debt ceiling is raised (and there will be more in the future), this further devalues the dollar. In short, I think U.S. debt is already damaged goods. Treasury buyers might impose a real debt ceiling and stop buying altogether. Some countries have recently done just that.”

Rather than wasting time with silly fear mongering, Obama and the Democrats need to be working with Republicans to cut $4 trillion in spending—without raising taxes!

PLAY BALL! Not Race Politics, at All-Star Game in Arizona!

Under the morally-bankrupt guidance of Jesse Jackson and the La Raza crowd, baseball fans have been urged to forego the traditional celebration of the mid-summer classic, AKA, the All Star game, in favor of protesting a law passed to protect American citizens from the ravages of illegal aliens.

Jackson and La Raza, the Hispanic version of the KKK, are in a snit because the 2011 All Star game will be played at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona, that “racist” state that passed SB 1070 to protect citizens, regardless of race, color or national origin, from illegal aliens, most of whom come here illegally via Mexico.

As reported at the reference, Jackson carried the Racism pennant to the ball players in a feeble attempt to demean and politicize the national past time:

Thankfully, Jackson’s tired, old race-baiting message has failed to resonate as most players are simply ignoring the rhetoric issued by the so-called reverend and the equally un-American La Raza.
